Basic Operation
ArsClip runs on the system tray and monitors for new clipboard clips. When you need to paste an older clip, activate the ArsClip popup window and click on the clip. The popup window can be activated many ways, but the most common way is to use a global hotkey. By default, this hotkey is defined to CTRL+Shift+Z and can be changed.
To summarize: Press CTRL+Shift+Z and click on a clip to paste into the current foreground program.
How ArsClip Works
Windows Clipboard -> ArsClip's Popup -> Removed Clips -> Deleted
When data is copied to the Windows clipboard, ArsClip makes a copy of the clip. By default, ArsClip stores up to 15 clips of the most recent in memory. Once this cache of Popup Clips is full, the oldest clip is moved to the Removed Clips cache.
Unlike the Popup Clips in-memory cache, Removed Clips are stored on disk and do not affect performance.
These caches can be managed using the Edit History window. This is opened using the system tray icon's right-click menu or by using the 'System' menu directly on the popup. Cache setting can be changed the following location: [Configuration>Clipboard Monitoring>History].
Configuration and Editing
Almost all settings can be found in the Configuration window and almost all other windows can be opened from this location. This window is found directly on the popup window under the 'System' menu on the popup or on the right-click menu of the system tray icon.
The Edit History and Permanent Clips/Macros windows are used to edit your clip history and to define your own custom menu items. These windows are found directly on the popup window under the 'System' menu on the popup or on the right-click menu of the system tray icon. Optionally, these windows can be opened from within the Configuration window.
