New: Options for Automatic detect
v1.0.0 - Test 3
[This version is now currently available at the official Opera Extension catalog]
New: Non-destructive popup used instead of altering existing text
Notes:
In this version, I'm using a popup that will appear near the selected text that will list all of the text web addresses (http) in the selection. With this version, I think I'm getting close to a plugin that can be officially released as an Opera extension.
The popup is dismissed by clicking the mouse - which removes the selection.
Links in the popup will open in a new window.
v1.0.0 - Test 2
[download replace by above version]
Fix: now preserves formatting
Notes:
Addresses split between HTML elements will not be detected or only partially detected.
Highlighted text will sometimes be erased instead of updated with links.
v1.0.0 - Test 1
[download replace by above version]
With this extension, highlighting a web address (http[s]) in text format -- like http://www.joejoesoft.com -- will turn the address into a clickable link.
Notes:
This is a prototype, but very functional.
This extension does not yet have enough polish to be officially published, in my opinion.
Links that are split with any whitespace will not be detected.
Multiple links will be created for all address found in the highlighted selected.
The extension can destroy formatting and some HTML elements, depending on how much is highlighted.
