MouseWrangler Official Release

Version 2.0 of MouseWrangler has been released after 13 years since the last version. This is a major rework of the program to make it easier to understand and easier to use. This program is my attempt to add Opera Browser style mouse gestures to any program. Below is an overview of the new features, not including how most windows are reworked.

A new Welcome Window explains how the program works and lets you create and use your first Mouse Gesture. The gesture is a useful one. It shows how to use a gesture to open the configuration window.

The monitor position specific gestures let you re-use gesture shapes, but only trigger if the mouse starts at a specific position on the monitor. The example gesture in the Welcome window uses a [TOP]+DOWN gesture, which means move the mouse down and move downward.

Command line support has been added for showing specific MW windows. This means you can create hotkeys, using a batch file, to show these windows or use a Gesture to active these windows. Besides showing the Configuration window, you can show the Edit Gestures window with the current program already highlighted.

Most windows now include examples. This shows a quick way to do common tasks and shows off features of the program. Gesture Shapes and Actions both have example dropdown menus in the Gesture Wizard.

Lastly, gestures drawn on the desktop will now automatically close the popup menu. This little tweak will look for a popup menu if the current focus window is the desktop and close it. It's tweak to an annoying issue.

MouseWrangler 2.0 in the Works

Currently in Public Beta, the next version of MouseWrangler is being reworked to add new features and improve usability.

- Added a new Welcome window to describe how the program works and includes an example gesture.
- Gestures can now be monitor position specific (eg. drag down from the top of the monitor).
- Many of the program windows have been updated.
- Per-Program Gestures can be enabled/disabled using mouse chording (configurable).
- MouseWrangler windows can be shown using a gesture.

All of the major features have been implemented in the current Public Beta, but a few minor tweaks remain.

ArsClip Official Release

Version 5.42 of ArsClip has been released. This release focus on bug fixes and one minor new feature.

This is a maintenance release. The only new feature is the ability to indent code (using CTRL+Space) in the edit window for Permanent Clips. This is a quality of life feature for those that use edit JavaScript, since pressing TAB will change control focus.

ArsClip Official Release

Version 5.41 of ArsClip has been released. This release focus on the new user experience and Quality of Life changes.

On a new install, a "Getting Started" is now displayed to explain how to show the most important window of the program: the Popup. This window also explains the most common and basic usage of the Popup and Permanent clips. The System menus have also been updated to re-display this window.

The new [SHOWPOPUP] macro command can be used to show the Popup and the default state. This means that you can show the Popup with only a specific Permanent Group - an often requested feature. For customization, AC is designed to be able to show almost any window using a macro. Now, the Popup and the Clipboard Tooltip have been added to this list of windows.

The Edit Permanent Clips windows has been updated to show more/better context information. You can now click on AC specific JavaScript routines to show a link that opens up the help page. Also, the help sections of this window and the Edit Clips/Macro window have been updated.

A new set of JavaScript routines have been added to generate Permanent Clips. This lets you create a Permanent Clip from the clipboard, a Popup Clip item, or literal text. So, it would be possible to create a script to copy the selected text and generate a Permanent Clip from the clipboard.

On the Popup, you can now set clip types to ignore depending on the program. For example, instead of ignoring all pictures, you can ignore pictures copied from specific programs - like graphics editors. Also, the Clip Menu, has been updated to move a Permanent Clip to another group.

Rename Master Official Release

Version 3.20 of Rename Master has been officially released. This is a smaller release that has 3 major changes.

Performance has been improved for loading both the Renaming Scripts and the program itself. I expect at least a 30% improvement on most system and a bit more on slower systems. There are still some more improvements to be made, but those changes will require a lot more work and testing.

The way Wildcards/RegEx is handle has been improved. Previously, enabling RegEx required a global change to all "search" fields in the Renaming Script. A changes was made in the last version to add a "?reg?" variable that would only treat specific text fields. In the new version, text fields that support RegEx or Wildcards are clearly marked. When clicking on these textboxes, a new button will appear to easily toggle the mode. With this button, you can quickly enable RegEx or enabled Wildcards (*, ?, or ?*) and insert Wildcards. In Wildcard mode, you won't be able to see the friendly names of Meta-Variables and, obviously, RegEx is not available.

The Save Script dialog now has a new option. The Files/Folders setting for the File List can now be saved as part of the Renaming Script. For example, you can have a folder specific script and you can change the File List to show only folders.
